The heart breaking story of pop starlet Kesha Rose Sebert is bound to have reached your ears, if not, we think it should.
In a nutshell, Kesha spoke out against her producer, Dr Luke (Lucasz Gottwald) claiming he both sexually and mentally abused her over the years of working together.
She sued him for alleged sexual assault and battery, sexual harassment, gender violence and emotional abuse.
After a lenthy legal battle, on February 19th 2016, New York Supreme Court ruled against Kesha’s request for an injunction that would release her from her contract with Kemosabe Records, a label owned by Dr Luke , under the umbrella of Sony Music Entertainment.
Now, whether you enjoy Kesha’s music or not, your heart must bleed to see scenes of poor Kesha breaking down and crying in court, and knowing that this girl must now work and make records for her abuser.
The verdict has caused outrage and protests amongst Kesha’s fans and other professionals in the music industry, and we can see why! Hashtag #FreeKesha is circulating and we are more than happy to show our support as well!
No-one wants to live in a world where a contract means more that a person’s safety, so Kesha, Mammoth Magazine supports you!
